Take the H-1 freeway East. Part of this road is elevated and there are numerous exits. Stay on this road - we are about 25 minutes out of Honolulu. This road progressively gets smaller and smaller and finally dwindles to a two-lane road with some nice scenery. At Makapuu, the SE corner of the Island, you will make a sharp curve to the left, climb a steep hill, and have a spectacular view of Windward Oahu. You can then see the Makai Research Pier about a mile down the coast. If you are looking at a regular tourist map, we are just beyond Sea Life Park. The pier is the only thing out in the water other than a few islands, so you can't miss us.
